HISTORY OF THE SCHOOL
Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Primary School is a single stream school enrolling boys and girls from Kindergarten to Year 7. The school is in the resort town of Esperance (population 14,000) 750km south-east of Perth.
Construction of the school commenced in 1992 and classes started in 1993. 1999 saw the opening of the Kindergarten, the final stages, and Administration block of the school development. Growth of the school has been steady with the number of enrolled students in 2004 being 220.
Our students come from families with diverse backgrounds and occupations. Approximately one fifth are of a farming background. Some students travel distances from outlying areas (up to 75km) to attend the school.
The school enjoys an excellent reputation both locally and within the Catholic education system. There are families on waiting lists ready to join our school. We proudly continue to be a "family" school.
